The 470 is a double-handed Olympic class and is well known to prepare athletes very well both technically on adjustments and strategically regarding race management. Currently there are 470 regattas in more than 60 countries around the World.
Initially it was possible to participate in the Olympics with crews of any gender, but since 1988 the fleet has been divided into male and female; from Paris 2024 the fleet becomes for mixed crews. Continuing to build 470 dinghies since 1967, today Nautivela is the longest-running 470 manufacturer in the world: units built over the decades exceed 7500.
